1. Kimpton BEM Budapest, Hungary

Recently opened in Budapest, Kimpton BEM is a five-star hotel set in a historic city centre property, with all the design flair you could wish for. The basement spa offers a full gym experience, and a wellness area with hot tub, steam room, sauna and ice shower.
2. Corinthia Rome, Italy

Invest in yourself (for a change?) and book a stay in the former headquarters of the Bank of Italy, now the Corinthia Rome. Laid out in the vaults – where else? – Spa Corinthia offers two bathing pools in front of a flickering fire, and three treatment rooms for 111Skin and Seed to Skin therapies.

3. Capella Kyoto, Japan

Discover the benefits of the time-honoured Japanese bathing ritual at Auriga Spa when it opens in the Capella Kyoto hotel this spring. Spa goers can enjoy a personalised wellness journey in one of four treatment suites before stripping off and sinking into silky geothermal waters in their own private Onsen room.
4. Fairmont the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia

Part of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project, Fairmont the Red Sea is slated to open its doors on 125 miles of untouched coastline this May. Unsurprisingly, the property will feature a signature Fairmont spa which – as this Spa Spy knows – is no beige affair. While spa details remain hush-hush, we expect great things.
5. Ayã Resort, Cyprus

Pools don’t come much larger than the 3,000sq metre Ayã Pool set to open at the adult-only, all-suite Ayã Resort this April. Loungers, tipis and cabanas provide shade during the day; evenings hot up with DJ sets and summer beats. One entire floor is dedicated to the spa, with steam and treatment rooms aplenty.
6. Na Praia, Comporta, Portugal

Over a decade in the making, Na Praia will finally become a reality this spring. Its location – on a wild nature reserve with lofty dunes and ocean views – is perfect for quiet contemplation; Spa Na Praia’s wellness studios, treatment rooms and water healing therapies will gently hold your hand while you get there.
7. Luura Cliff, Paros, Greece

The flagship property of family-owned hotel brand Luura will open in May on Greece’s Paros clifftops, facing a sparkling sea. The adults-only, all suite property will include an extensive wellness area with a central alfresco pool shaded by trees. Treatments will reflect the much sought-after Mediterranean lifestyle.
8. Airelles Palladio, Venice, Italy

An opening date of 1 April might seem foolish to some but French-owned hotel brand Airelles has everything to on its side for its first foray into Italy. Set on Giudecca Island, the hotel’s 1,700sq metre spa and wellness centre is set to become the largest in Venice, with three pools, a kids’ club (say what?), a wellness garden and a gym.
9. Cavallino Bianco, Caorle, Italy

Another huge wellness centre will open in Italy this spring in the coastal town of Caorle just outside Venice. Beyond the saunas and holistic treatments of Cavallino Bianco Caorle’s 4,000sq metre wellness centre will be an adults-only rooftop spa with Infinity Sky Pool and a top floor Beauty centre with a panoramic infinity pool.
10. Conrad Corfu, Greece

Wellness brands ONAR and Swissline will appear on the treatment menu at the Hilton’s first luxury resort in Greece: Conrad Corfu. Anticipated to open in May, the beachfront property will include a spa with a vitality pool, infrared sauna and snow shower. Couples will be looked after in their own dedicated suite with sauna and hammam.

Amoh will open on the island of Rhodes this May with bookings available from the 12th. At 700sq metres, the EliSpa combines Greek traditions with modern wellness therapies in seven treatment rooms – including one for couples; it also boasts a steam bath, sauna, relaxation lounge, wet lounge and hair & nail salon.
12. Jayasom, Saudi Arabia

The Red Sea will benefit from another spa hotel this spring when Jayasom graces Saudi’s Triple Bay. The wellness facility will span a Zen-inducing 7,000sq metres with separate zones for adults and families, including areas for infants, toddlers, tweens and teens. Arabia meets West on the treatment menu.

13.Mandarin Oriental, Punta Negra, Mallorca

Mandarin Oriental will debut in Mallorca’s Calvia this summer with its hotel concept on the Punta Negra
coastline. Combining Mallorca’s heritage with Oriental wellbeing philosophies, the spa will showcase a hydromassage pool, steam room, cold plunge, and sensory showers, as well as nine treatment cabins and a relaxation room.
14.Mandarin Oriental, Rome, Italy

Another Mandarin Oriental spa hotel will open in the middle of the year in the heart of the Rome. It’s first venture into this historic city will feature top-notch fitness facilities, large indoor and outdoor pools, six treatment rooms, a mix of hot and cold thermal rooms and a dedicated sundeck.
15. The First Hotel Cortina, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

Dolomites National Park will see its inaugural First Spa opening this summer showing off Bali-based wellness brands Revivo and Starpool. Set across two levels, the 1,000sq metre space will focus on Mediterranean and European traditions with a hammam, Turkish bath and Finnish saunas. Try the Zerobody Dry Float bed in the Starpool.
OPENING AUTUMN 2026
16. The Malkai, Oman

Unlike a traditional hotel, three separate tented camps form The Malkai with accommodation in Muscat’s farmlands, the Al Hajar mountains and the Sharqiya Sands desert. Each climate-controlled Pavilion has its own lounge, dining area and terrace. Based on Oman’s ancient healing, treatments will take place in a series of Spa Pavilions spread across each site.
OPENING WINTER 2026/2027
17. Ensana Montegrott Terme, Italy

Natural thermal waters and fango mud are what attracted medical spa brand Ensana to open an 180-room property in Italy’s Montegrott Terme, slated for its red ribbon fanfare in the final quarter of 2026. The spa will harness its natural environment by offering thermal hydro- and mud therapy, as well as wellness treatments and lifestyle coaching.
